JDRF Phantom Unmasked

  • 37 photos for sale Buy a Photo
  • Phantom Unmasked was a benefit for the Metro Saint Louis/Greater Missouri Chapter Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), which featured cast members from the National Touring Company of " The Phantom of the Opera." The talented cast gave their night off from playing at the Fox Theatre to perform some of their favorite music, not their traditional " Phantom" stage roles, for the 300 guests at the William D. Purser Center at Logan College. In his program welcome message, board president Rich Unnerstall commended the guests for their support and concern for the children and adults who battle Type 1 Diabetes. Those with Type 1 cannot produce insulin themselves and are dependent on daily injections, by shots or an insulin pump, to survive. Since taking insulin does not cure any type of Diabetes, nor does it prevent possible devastating effects, continued research and funding is vital to finding a cure.
